Shrinky Dink Necklaces

None of my necklaces are as awesome as the one I got for Christmas!

10 on the 10th

Ok here goes, 10 on the 10th for January.

9:00 AM -
I finally roll out of bed for some tea.

10:00 AM -
I begin working on my project for the craft fair. I am making recycled plastic shrinky dink necklaces. Here they are before going into the oven.

11:00 AM -
I am just finishing up the necklaces. They turned out awesome. Hopefully people will want to buy them.

12:00 PM -
Daisy & Stella need to run. We head to the park by our house.

1:00 PM -
I decide to head outside and plant a few tulip bulbs that I still have sitting around. Although they are in pretty bad shape at this point, I think they just might make it.

2:00 PM -
Time to get the house cleaned up. This actually took a few hours, but I thought that one photo of house work would be enough for everyone.

5:00 PM -
I start working on getting thing organized, pay bills, make lists...boring!

6:00 PM -
I eat a fantastic TJ's Carrot Cake muffin (I like to consider these muffins, they have fruit and veggies). It was awesome.

7:00 PM -
Dinner...I had intended to take a picture before I started eating, but got distracted and forgot. It was pasta and it was very tasty.

8:00 PM -
The lovely Daisy waiting for some attention. I am cleaning some more.

9:00 PM -
Last, I am laying in bed, working on 10 on the 10th, watching BSG: The Plan. I'm going to have to re-watch it later cause I am not paying close enough attention.

10 on the 10th!!

I am SUPER excited to be posting on our blog...it has been a while.
I finally remembered to do 10 on the 10th yesterday. It was a really great busy day!

In the wee hours of the morning, Ben arrived home from work and brought with him a Papa Haydn's Dessert for both of us. This is the White Chocolate Mint Torte, one of my favorites.

Once we woke up, we went grocery shopping. Boring.
Mid-morning, I had some hummus and pita bread for brunch.
Then Ben and I took the VW in to get our snow tires put on. Winter Sucks!
Then in the afternoon, on my way to campus I saw this beautiful thing! It was so awesome.

I went to campus, and first thing, grabbed a very awful tasting Chai from the Dovecoat. It was still worth it because it kept me warm while I walked around.

On my way back across campus, I found this. I had never seen it before. It is pretty.
Once I got home, I decided to finally use the all the fruit that people have been nice enough to give us this fall. I made Apple (thanks to Morgan and Laura), Pear (thanks to Stef, Alan, and Ellen), and Persimmon (thanks to Marjorie) Sauce. I haven't had a chance to eat any of it yet, but I am sure that it will be tasty!

Then we went to Andina for Ben's Birthday dinner. It was wonderful!
And last here is Ben modeling one of his birthday gifts, a new t-shirt.

10 on the 10th

Today was a really good day! Here are my pictures, not exactly every hour, but better spaced that last time I think.

6:30 AM

First this morning, I spent time smelling my beautiful roses that my friend Sara got me. They are wonderful, I love them, they smell perfect.

7:15 AM

I feed Daisy.



7:50 AMI take Daisy out to go to the bathroom, and find that my grapes are about to leaf out. YAY!


8:45 AM

I am at work now, and I actually remembered to bring my extra eggs in to a few special people. Many more egg deliveries to come.

10:00 AM

I am off to class, this is part of my walk.


11:30 AM
On my walk back to South Campus.

11:55 AM

I have to go back across campus because I forgot to turn in some paperwork at the manor house.

4:45 PM
A busy afternoon leads me to my evening group meeting in Howard Hall.
6:30 PM
I arrive home, and check the mail. Nothing exciting in the mail.

8:00 PM
After a visit with Lloyd (Ben's Grandpa), we are home again, and Daisy is so happy to see us.

Weekend Sewing

While searching through several blogs the other day, I saw a book called Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross that looked interesting. It is full of sewing projects that you can finish in a weekend or less (hence the title, I guess.) I tried to find it at the library, but it was a no go. So, last night, just before they closed, I went to the bookstore with the intention of only looking, but it was so cute and inspiring that I HAD to have it. There are lots of awesome projects in there and not just baby stuff, but since I am going tomorrow to visit my sweet little nieces, I thought that maybe that was the best place for me to start. So far (since last night) this is what I have made:

A baby Kimono for my brand new little niece.

Some sweet little bloomers to match.

A dress for my sweet Tuula girl (and some bloomers to match that I didn't get in a photo.)

Needless to say, I think the book is very nearly perfect. The next thing I am going to make will be for me...maybe.
