Idaho Golden Greek with Jan's Berries
Mom, Tracey and I started off our local eating challenge this week together. We returned home after a crazy trip to Bend, Oregon and decided to have dinner at mom's house. Since we were all together we decided to go get some local things from the new little market in downtown Nampa. We got some delicious Idaho Golden Greek cheese produced by the Ballard Family Dairy in Gooding, ID. We also got some locally made bread from Harvest Classic. Since we were all very tired from the trip, we decided to opt for easy grilled cheese sandwiches plus some really wonderful little strawberries from mom's strawberry patch.
The cheese (which we had never tried before) turned out to be delicious. The trick was that you had to fry it in the pan first and then put it onto the toasted bread...it wouldn't melt in the bread. It was perfect with the dark bread. Yum! We thought that maybe next week we could put the strawberries with some homemade ice cream using local ingredients. The possibilities are so exciting.
There is still time to join if you are interested! Just head over to
living senses and comment on Heather's posts and she can add you to the challenge.
xoxo ~ Stephanie

Okay, I am behind on posting this. But Steph - I am in awe of the rock climbing. I don't do heights, so I am impressed! Tan
